Role: New student
Eligibility: Commencing students in Session 2, 2023
What: New students are paired with mentors and work with a small group of peers for the first four weeks of session on building skills to be successful at University. For one hour each week, you will participate in our mentoring program Uni Foundations where you will meet new friends, build your academic skills and learn how to access CSU's support and skills team to make your first year of University a success.
When: Weeks 1-4 of session
Commitment:
- 4 x 1 hour group mentoring sessions, either online or in person (depending on your course and location).
Mode: Virtual (Chronus Platform / Zoom) or on campus.
Role: Mentor
Eligibility: Current students, second year and beyond.
What: Orientation Buddies present four workshops and have the opportunity to answer new students’ questions and share their experience of succeeding in university life. Mentors play an important role in helping new students feel empowered, welcome and ready for university life.
When: Weeks 1-4 of session
Commitment:
- 1 hour training (online)
- 4 x 1 hour online briefing sessions prior to delivering each weekly workshop
- 4 x 1 hour group mentoring sessions, either online or in person depending course requirements
